So I've not had a bad few days with my writing! So far I've had three posts published on Charity websites, a fourth post referenced on social media websites and today I've found out that one thing I've written is being featured in SANE's newsletter and another thing I've written is being featured in a magazine!!! The first post was published on the SANE website on the 14th (only 8 days ago!) and can be found here:

The one that was referenced was the next post to be used and the post I wrote can be found here on my blog:

Next was another post which can be found here:

Lastly, the third post to be used on a website (apart from my own blog) can be found by following this link, scrolling to the bottom of the page and looking for the name 'Freakshow':

Alternatively the third post can be found here (but I chose to prove that it was used on the SANE website!!):

SANE's newsletter will be sent to all SANE's supporters and I shall be signing up to receive the newsletter that one of my quotes will be featured in! I'll probably post a picture of the newsletter where my quote is in excitement knowing me!
The magazine that a short piece of mine is being featured in is One in Four magazine, a quarterly magazine about Mental Health. My official prize for being featured is an annual membership to receive their magazine, but the real prize is just being featured!! One in Four magazine can be found here:

So I'm rather excited at the moment! 9 days ago I had been doing a bit of writing but not a lot and now I've had 5 things published and 1 referenced!! I go by the names 'Freakshow' and 'Misty'. I prefer Freakshow but a few charities have asked me not to use that name so I give my other name 'Misty'. I've not received anything for these except for the magazine membership and a lot of kudos!!
The other big thing is that I've enrolled in night school!!!! It'll only be two hours a night, one night a week for 8 weeks but I'm still nervous! They're OK with letting me take my carer (AKA my Mum) with me without her having to enrol/pay for the course and when they found out that I was on benefits they cut the price of the course considerably, which I'm not sure if I'm pleased about or not. But either way, I'm going to night school!! ARGH!!!!
I guess an important thing about night school that I should have mentioned was what I will be studying! I'm doing a creative writing course which will hopefully help me to do something with writing as a career! I'm hoping that all these things that I've had used by the charities will help me to get a publisher if/when I finish my book rather than going down the self-publishing route - I'll do anything for an easier life, plus having a publisher will hopefully mean more copies of my book being sold which will mean more money for charity!!
Ahh, I'm happy! Hopefully this feeling will last!
Awesome. Glad it's working out for you. I'm hot on your heels- watch out ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope you are hot on my heels, I love a bit of healthy competition! I'm looking forward to the day when I can concentrate on reading and catch up with so many things I've not been able to read!
DeleteI am so proud of you! Absolutely brilliant!
ReplyDeleteDon't forget that it was you who got me into writing in the first place! So I have you to thank for my success!!
DeleteI genuinely do have you to thank for my 'success' as I'd have never gotten into writing without your book and the chain reaction that ensued from reading it! I am immensely grateful that my sister saw your book when you were offering it for free and that she downloaded it onto her Kindle for me! It's strange how something small as downloading a free Kindle book can literally change my life into a whole new direction!!
But it was YOUR hard work on your book that made the change so I really am grateful - thank you so much! Hopefully with something to get me out of bed in the morning it'll keep me well, who knows?!
